Since this is a very important thing to do, too keep your AEG running I am going to go over what is needed and how to clean the inner barrel and lube your inner barrel and hopup bucking.
Cleaning your Inner Barrel.
You are going to need the following:
1. The unjamming/cleaning rod that came with your AEG
2. a Small can of spray silicon. You can pick this up at any hardware store or order it from a airsoft retailer. Make sure it is 100% silicon and there are no additives in it as this will break down the rubber of the bucking.
3. Small "Real Steel" gun cleaning rags. You can pick this up from walmart or meijers back in the hunting section
4. Pair of scissors to cut the cleaning cloths to make them smaller to that they will fit down the inner barrel.
Here is what you will need to do,
1. take the cleaning cloth and the unjamming/cleaning rod, be sure to cut the cleaning cloth across the middle so that both sides are as equal as you can make them. Then thread one half of the cleaning cloth through the eye opening of the cleaning rod. After this is done go ahead and spray some of the silicon on to the cloth until it is damp, you don't need to soak the cloth as you don't need a lot of the silicon to clean the barrel.
Then you can inset the cleaning rod into the inner barrel, while doing this use a clockwise twisting motion as you are sliding this cleaning rod down as this will be sure to get all of the dirt and build up off the sides of the inner barrel. Also be sure to turn your hopup all the way off. As when you are cleaning your inner barrel you will also be lubing your hopup bucking at the same time. If your hopup unit is on you can increase the chance of damaging your bucking.
Now repeat this process until the cleaning rag come out clean as you continue to clean your inner barre. As this was mentioned, spraying silicon down the barrel and then firing round through it will not lube your hopup bucking and or barrel. What can happen from this is increase bb jam within the inner barrel and can attract more dust and grime in the inner barrel as well. If you needing to lube your inner barrel while at a game take the time and full the above steps.
I will post a vid on this for better clarifications and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Here are some of the items I used when cleaning my AEG's and pistols
First is the Cleaning cloths you can get these at walmart or meijer back in the sporting good section
You will need to cut them in half before you can use them as they will get stuck in the inner barrel.
Next you will see that I have a gun brush which again you can get this at walmart or meijers. These work great to clean any dirt in the like the mag well or in creases on the gun or pistol. The other is a un-jamming rod. You will see onthe other end if it is a "eye" that is where the cleaning cloths will go with just a spray if silicon on it.
Here you will this is the silicone oil that i use to clean and lube the AEG or pistol. These are the same but one is made but the airsoft company and the other you can pick up at the hardware store. Be sure to get pure silicone. If you get silicone with an additive in it, it will break down you hopup rubber and the you have some more problems to worry about.
Last here is a can of dust air, I use this to help with getting dirt of out hard to reach places and it does a great job.
Well for everything that i listed here you are looking at maybe around $15 or less. With this stuff you will be able to do many cleanings. I hope this has helped if you have any questions feel free to ask.
