i was looking into the fusion engines polar star is making and discovered that they need more work to be put into a KWA, i was wondering if anyone here knew what needed to be done cause i have a entire workshop open to me and i really don't want to ship my gun to be fitted.

KWA bodies are built to slightly different spec than TM spec AEGs. You will just have to convert the KWA lower to take a 1 peice hop up, and then visually inspect areas where it doesnt seat correctly. I have successfully fit a TM spec gearbox into a KWA body this way, it just takes time, patience, and tools.

wow, ok, just noticed the whole hop up thing going on, so what did you have to do to get a standard hop up in?

I have been running a full polar star gun for about 3 weeks now. All I can say is I hardly even give my AEGs a second thought anymore. Once you get past having a tank and hose. Which takes about 5 minutes of game play time. You can have one gun for all occasions. Slow it down to under 350 for CQB. Install a longer barrel and speed it up to 400 for field play. Speed it up to 500 or so and set it to fire from a closed bolt and you got a kick ass sniper. All of these adjustments take less than 10 minutes, some only a minute or so. You can program 2 to 9 round burst or make it single shot only. You can make it nasty loud or dead silent. I absolutely love mine, the guys on the other team.......not so much. Hehe

i had polar star tell me that it is possible to use the original hop up, but the selector plate needs to be swapped out specially for kwa's. also if you want to quick change air nozzles you have to drill a little material off the top of the mag well.

Hehe Gunny Hey Gunny, out of curiosity, how do you have your air rig set up? Both in terms of how do you wear it - what are you using to hold your tank, etc. - but also what components are you using, e.g. what kind of regulator(s) do you have, did you get a pre-made remote setup and add a regulator or two, did you build it from scratch with parts, did you buy a fully pre-made rig etc.? I'm almost certainly gonna be getting a PR-15 here in the next month or so and I have a pretty good idea what I'm gonna do for my air rig but I'm curious to find out what others have done. Thanks, Shyft p.s. I don't mean to hijack your thread, Cowboy. I would've PM'd Gunny but I thought this info might be useful to others as well (maybe even yourself).

I bought the whole pre made rig from Amped airsoft. Right now I run the one with both straight lines. I also have the rig with a coiled line too for a spare if anything happens to the other one. I have two tanks. The 96 cubic inch and the 68 cubic inch. The smaller one is only an inch and a half shorter than the big one. I usually run the larger one at the air house. After using it for a dew weeks now, I am sure I could run the whole day with the smaller one. I put the tank and most of the rig in my hydration pack. I run the hose inside the right shoulder strap and let it exit in front. I always run a single point magpul sling to the gun so having the hose connected to the gun doesn't bother me one bit. I can change from right to left just as I always did. I haven't tried the coiled hose setup yet. I have seen guys run them from the tank and around their waist under their arm to the gun. Sorry I don't have any pics of my setup. I usually run the fps at 310 for the airhouse. Right now I have the rate of fire set quite fast. I think around 38 to 40 bbs per second with the gun programmed to 5 round burst. I am gonna slow it down as it wastes a lot of bbs and gets multiple hits on the enemy per shot. Most people don't really like to get hit that many times at once. It sure keeps their head down though. Hehe Gunny

How many rounds can you get from a 96 cubic inch tank? What air are you using (HPA, ect.) Where are you filling your tanks at. What does it run you to refill it? In your opinion is it worth it vs. an aeg (maintenance/repair, durability, ect.)

Chaffin, I haven't completely run a tank dry yet to see how many shots. I think polar star estimates in the worst case you should get almost 5000 shots from that size tank. I am into HPA air rifles so I have large carbon fibre tanks and a 5000 psi compressor to fill my own with. You would have to check with a paintball shop or fire house for prices on fills. The tanks are filled with normal breathing air. Just at a very high pressure either 3000psi or 4500psi depending on tank. As far as being worth the money over an AEG. That will be different for different people. For a person that plays a lot and has several different guns, and has those guns upgraded. Yes it is totally worth it. Add up the cost of three quality AEGs, cost to upgrade, batteries. With the PR15 you have one gun. With the change of one $19 part you can go from CQB to field to sniper. Changing that part takes 5 minutes. You do the math. Check out their reliability video. Full auto non stop for hours and hours.
I would say do some research and decide for yourself. There is quite a bit of info on the net. If anyone wants to try mine, just ask.
See you later............in my sights Gunny

These Fusion engines will be the Standard in a year.. They are that awesome and that much better than the AEG platform. Gunny has become the most hated player on the field.. Unless he's on your team!

Hey munster. I think I might just have to disagree with you. I dont believe that they will be the standard unless they get a ENORMOUS price drop. Not everyone has the money to spend on this. Just my two cents.

I tend to agree with Slappy. To quote a review I read on one: "Do I expect this to replace the AEG? No. The bottom line is that it isn't self contained, and the entry cost is high for a lot of people." It's possible to get AEGs to the same level of performance as a P* for probably close the the same cost. Granted, you do lose some of the flexibility.
With that said, I still want one. ;D
