Pretty much everyone knows of Photoshop but few of us care enough to drop that kind of money on making pictures look a little better. Currently though, there are alternatives out there that are actually worthy of note. PhotoshopUnnecessary description here... tryit.adobe.com/us/cs5/photoshop/?sdid=FIGOW&skwcid=TCGIMPThis is probably the best free Photoshop alternative on the market. Don't believe its knock off looking website, this program is professionally put together. www.gimp.org/PhotoFiltreThis is a much lighter program than Photoshop or GIMP but has quite a few of the same features and can also be used as a batch image converter. photofiltre.en.softonic.com/InkscapeThis is a scalable vector graphics editor. It is slightly hit and miss next to Photoshop when it comes to tools/usefulness but it is still note-able. inkscape.org/index.php?lang=en

It does better background removal than photoshop. And easier cropping.

Personally, I own Photoshop CS5 but I RARELY use it. I don't have much use for a lot of the software other then a bit of editing out of boredom to make my wallpapers man pretty. It's probably wrong of me to own Photoshop and use GIMP instead..

I have CS5 as well, but from questionable sources. I use it for userbars, and it was almost what I learned on. I learned on CS4. I just wish I had Video editing and Audio editing software. Any ideas?

Lets say I got CS5 from a questionable source too... Personally, I NEED to look further into video editing software. I would REALLY like the best that is out there... For audio editing, depending on what you need done, I would recommend Audacity which is open source or Fruity Loops Studio (FL Studio).

I am looking for something similar to Adobe Audition and Première. I learned on them, and I liked them a lot.

Well, if you learned on Adobe Audition, I would say stick with it and use FL Studio for any other needs.

Agreed with Loony. Adobe After Effects with the Action Essentials pack can make gnarly videos.
