Hey everyone, I just have a quick question with my G&G M4. Its a proline back from around '07.
I had installed a RIS and some goodies, went to take it out and shoot the Crap, and it absolutely will not shoot full auto, only semi. Before this happened, the trigger felt like it was stuck, but after a little bit of shooting it went back to normal. Now even if the selector is in auto it will only shoot one bb. Any suggestions?
EDIT :: Current diagnosis is a selector plate issue, although I cannot seem to break the rifle down properly.
Thanks,
Lancer

Sounds like selector plate / switch to me also. Look up on YouTube how to break down an m4, its not too bad.

Oh I know, just the connectors on the wiring are mini tamiya, so I either have to cut the connector or take out the metal "pins" in the plastic connectors. Any advice on that?

Usually guns like that have a quick disconnect connector in the wiring. If not I personally cut the wire and solder in some 2mm bullet connectors.

I was debating cutting it then installing either a bullet connector or a mini deans connector. Its now looking like having to fix a selector plate and then rewiring, as I found wire with melted insulation

i195.photobucket.com/albums/z197/Lancer_Mi A/SAM_0422.jpg Gonna have to remove the space in Mi A in order for the link to work Find a problem? haha Also, would 16 gauge wire be sufficient to run an 11.1v LiPo? And is there any other things I need to know before rewiring, as I have to open the gearbox and wire the trigger contacts as well, or can I get away with splicing the wires outside the gearbox?

Haha, that might cause a minor issue.
Personally I run 18 AWG with my 11.1v. I am going to upgrade to a high strand teflon or silicone wire as soon as I can find it for a decent price. Reason being is that 16 AWG can be a pain to fit in v2.
If you want to throw in 16 AWG then I would open the gearbox and do it right as the little 18 AWG left will bottle neck the current and negate the effect of the 16AWG anyways. While you are at it, I would install deans if you haven't already.

Yessir, that is my plan. I'm gonna add deans connectors to both my AEG's. Is there anything I need to know specifically when opening up the gearbox to rewire? This is my current wiring: i195.photobucket.com/albums/z197/Lancer_Mi A/SAM_0414.jpg So bottom line is I need to replace it anyway

Just to be careful and remember where everything goes, especially the shims on the gears. Someone like myself would be able to put it back together if you mess up, so don't worry too much, it will just cost you a little for labor.

That's what I'm worried about. I am struggling with money as it is, so having to ship it out to get it repaired and such is gonna hurt.

Sorry for the double post, but would solid or stranded wire be "better?" I currently have 18 gauge solid wire available, or should I buy the stranded set?

You will never want to use solid in an AEG. Unless you have super thick wire, it will not be able to handle the current. I use anything from basic 18 AWG hook up wire from Radioshack to 16 AWG silver stranded teflon wire depending on how demanding the build and how much I want to spend. You would be just fine with plain 18 AWG stranded from like Radioshack in a stock and mildly upgraded rifle.
