Alright so I'm thinking about making a seperate upper reciever so that I can easily go from a CQB barrel length to a decent barrel/rail lenth.
Anyone have any suggestions on good parts to have, but won't break the bank? I'd like to have a barrel that's longer than the standard 14".

Well the only issue that I see with this is that you are still running the same power source, the lower and gearbox. This means two things, 1) you are either going to be over voluming or undervoluming one of the uppers. You either are going to have a cylinder which puts out the correct volume of air for the long barrel, or the one for the short barrel. This will just make one of the uppers less efficient. 2) Having the longer barrel probably wont give you significant range/accuracy increase depending on the difference between the two. However, if you are set, I can get and a metal upper for you in the neighborhood of $140.

Dude Im no where near as smart as maverick when it comes to this but I was once concidering the exact same idea, but with my G&P slab sided AR and getting a upper to a M655 or even a CAR-15 to swich out for CQB. I was told the same thing by a guy at Evike.com (I thought he was BS'ing me to make a buck), best bet just buy 2 guns ones for medium range or longer distance engagements and one for CQB... It costs more but like maverick said it optimizes the preformance of the mechbox set up.
