Hey fellas, my name is C.J., and I'm out of Grand Rapids looking to get into airsoft. My manager at work just moved from St. Louis and said he played, loved it, and is trying to get me into it. I stopped at Young's here in town and looked at a few guns to get a good idea at how much this sport is going to cost me. There's a lot you can get. I'm currently with the 144th Military Police and figured the sport could help a little with my upcoming deployment even though it's just plastic bb's and not the real thing. So I'm looking for a team or just a place to play if anyone as any info for me. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum 31. Come on down to the air house some Saturday and sling some plastic with us. I bet you will be hooked in the first 5 minutes. I know I was.

Hey man! Welcome to the forums! Ive only been playing airsoft for around 3 months but I'll give you as many pointers as I can. 1) NEVER shop at Youngs unless you need to get something immediately. They are extremely overpriced, and unless you talk to the owner's son, you're going to get in a long mess of talking to a money-hungry man trying to convince you to buy everything in his store. (I'm not purposely making this sound harsh, but this is my own personal experience from him.) 2)Most of the airsoft-related items that people accumulate over time are bought in bits and pieces over a long period of time. (Unless your Gunny) 3) If you don't know yet whether you are fully-committed to the costs that come along with this sport. I recommend buying a Mid-Priced starter gun such as The G&G Combat Machine. On most Airsoft Websites the gun runs from $150-$175. 4) The Alternatives to Young's, that will save you money in the long run. www.airsoftgi.comwww.evike.comwww.airsplat.comwww.airsoftmegastore.comThese are just a few of the online airsoft stores that I have purchased guns/gear/etc. although there is a plethora of them if you just look around. Hope this helps! -Slappy

Thanks guys. Slappy, I've checked out all the sites got a pretty good idea about the guns. I do a lot of research about things before I jump into them. A little anal about it so I've got a good idea about the sport thus far, and yeah hope to be out soon.

Oh, nah. You don't always get quick responses on forums. Introduction threads seem to get the quickest response. I'm going to delete that post though since it's not needed anymore.
