Hey guys, here is a more current listing with more of the event info in it. You guys are more then welcome to play on any of the teams and we look forward to playing with you guys. This is a large field with over 60 acres to play on with a lot of different terrain. Here is the field overview picture.
Boarder Wars
Nov. 7th
Golden Sand Golf Course, Mears, MI.
Start at 10:30am
Cost $15
This will a Milsim style event played on the undeveloped back nine at Golden Sands Golf Course. We will take the feild at 10:30 and not stop until the end of the day. This will mean that you need to carry everything you need with you onto the field. THERE WILL BE NO LUNCH BREAK, so bring it with you on to the field if you want to eat something. This game will run until around 4:00 and there will be no going back to the staging area at any point until the end of the game. This event is intended for mature players who are under the understanding that following orders and direction of thier unit commanders is key to play. There will be no lonewolfs or players doing "your own thing" unless directed by your commander. This is not a spray and pray type of event. Players need to understand that like real military situations, there will be down times or times where you need to stand guard duty, or fortify a position or other similar types of activity throughout the day. Not every minute will be a gun fight.
After the game, a free dinner will be served of either Hamburgers and chips, or Pizza, and drinks. This is why the price is $15.
There needs to be a minimum for 35 players or this event will not happen. That's why you have plenty of time to set your schedules around this event. If you only make it to one event all year, it should be this one, Just ask any of last years players. You can PM me to be added to the list of players. Please let me know which team you would like to be on. I may switch players to help keep it balanced.
There will be 4 teams playing on the fied at the same time, each with thier own seperate objectives and props. The Army of Sierra Gordo will dress in green based camo uniforms (woodland, tigers, mpat) while the Borovian Army will dress in tan based camo uniforms (DCU, Multicam, ACU). There will be a local militia who will wear civilian clothing (NO CAMO and NO VESTS or PLATE CARRIERS) They may wear basic chest riggs or belts with alice pouches, stuff a militia would wear. The last team is the special VIP and his security detail. They will dress in contractors gear of black shirts and non camo pants. PLEASE COME DRESSED FOR YOUR TEAM. There should be plenty of ways for anyone to fit onto a team with out spending much money for uniforms.
I will be setting up Both of my GP medium Army tents(one for Sierra Gordo's HQ and one for Borova's HQ). Along with several boarder checkpoints and a few bunkers through out the terrain. There are also several old vehicles and trailers throughout that can be used during game play.
EVENT RULES;
WMiA standard FPS rules will be followed along with WMiA's eye protection rules.
There will be no limit to the amount of ammo you bring onto the field, (keep extra at your base camp) but we will be limiting the number of hi-caps players can play with. Players can carry a maximum of 2 hi-caps and no other mags, or 1 hi-cap and up to 6 mid or low caps, or unlimited mid or low caps. NO BOX MAGS unless it is on a true support weapon.
There will only be one sniper and spotter allowed per team unless the number of players grows enough to warrent another set of snipers per team. So if you want to be the sniper for your team, don't wait around. Also you should be a seasoned sniper, and I will check before I stick a noob sniper on a team if there is an experianced one waiting.
Radios are highly recommended. It is a huge field and it is easy to get turned around on. Also no patrols or groups will be allowed to go out from base camp unless at least one person in that group has a radio for contact.
We will be using a medic card system for hits and respawns. Each player will have a sealed envelope with a card in it. Once hit, any teammate can help that player by pulling his card. If KIA the player will return to respawn. If injured, it will specify a time he is out and then once healed he can continue. But if hit a second time he must respawn. Respawning player will draw new sealed medic cards from thier base camps before returning to play. If a player is hit and no teammate can reach him, then there will be a 2 minute (count to 120) bleed out period. If the player bleeds out they are KIA and will return to respawn but do not need to draw a new card, as they should still have thiers.
Respawns will be as soon as the player returns to a respawn point, but they may not leave the respawn point until at least three respawning players have returned. They may stand guard or defend thier base while waiting on other players. The only exception will be for snipers and thier spotters who work on thier own. The respawning group can then be directed by the team leader as to where they are needed.
There will be more rules added as we progress towards the Nov. 7th date.
