Empireairsoft.com is a Kalmazoo based airsoft store. Every single gun that you find on it is the exact same price as on Evike.com ( I did my research ) but you dont have to pay shipping, you can just go into the store and pick it up. I highly reccomend this place to everyone in the Kalamazoo/Calhoun County Area!

The guy who owns the store is kinda grouchy , but it's a cool store, and it's nice to be able to handle the gun before you buy it.

I do not like this store at all. I have had terrible experiences with this store and their pricing.

I agree with Legend. I haven't had to many good experiences of the times I've gone there. The Asian guy is impatient, there gear is overpriced. Overall, I'd just say order online UNLESS you need something at the last minute.
However, the guy, I think (but not sure) his name is Steve(?), is a cool guy. He's helped me with various things before.

lol, so basically your sugarcoating it and what your saying is that the guy is a moody, greedy snob who tries to rip people off as much as possible

You guys need to all quit hating! Sure Mr. Yong (yes that is his real name) is a hard person to read but was you get to know him he is a cool dude. Steve is the person that answers questions from behind the desk and repairs replicas as well. As a matter of fact he is a regular at the Airhouse. Prices in store are nto as good as prices are online but you pay for convenience. As far as avaialbility goes I have only went in there ONCE and had not found was I was looking for. So until Airsoft of Kalamazoo opens a retail store I recommend everyone goes to Empire Airsoft for their airsoft needs!

I agree with Tino that Mr. Yong is a "hard to read" kinda guy. My dad used to take me to Young's ALL the time when I was like 6 or 7. He's actually really nice. He (very) occasionally gave me and my dad discounts I think because we're Asians. No joke because my dad and him talked about South Korea and the Korean language a lot when we were there.
Overall though, first impressions sometimes can't be the best, once you go there enough it gets better.

Hey guys, just letting you all know that I just got back from Young's and the guy who owned it seemed really nice. It's great that I found a $190.00 M4 that I got to hold, and I really liked the feel of it!

I am with Tino. I have been dealing off/on with Yong for 25 yrs. You just have to understand his sense of humor. It is just like any place you go into, if you go in with a thin skin you are going to get dressed and butchered. If you have a little bit of a thick skin and play along you will be alright .

Yes, my name is Steve. Nice to meet everyone who doesn't already know me.
That said, I kinda have a small bitch about the comment that we, or Mr. Oh (Yong) rips people off. Fact of the matter, he does not. He runs a retail store like pretty much any other. Some have prices that are the same online, some do not.
When people see in-store retail prices, they assume people are ripping people off if it's not the same as some online price. I'm going to throw some examples out here.
My favorite is the now defunct Circuit City. I wanted to buy a GPS so I hit there webpage a couple years back before they went out of business and found a NICE unit for $369.00 This thing had all the bells and whistles including a MP3 player. I went to to there store ans the dang thing was $519.00 dollars if I remember right. I complained and pointed out it was $369.00 online. They tried to tell me I was wrong so I pulled out a PRINTED screen capture of the unit from there online page. The manager confirmed it was the same but said his computer would NOT let him price match that for me. He told me to just go home, order it online and do an in-store pick up. I had cash though, at the time my credit card was maxed so I didn't want to use a card. The best they could do was sell me a CC pre-paid giftcard that I took home, ordered online and then picked it up. Bit of a pain but i got it for $369.99 dollars.
Another is Normans Camera here in Kalamazoo on Westnedge... My Sony camera I bought from them. $489.99 in-store, $399.99 on their webpage, same as ANY OTHER webpage online. I ordered it threw their webpage.
World of CD-Rom a computer store in Kzoo. My new Asus motherboard was $169.99 in-store but I could order it from Newegg for $99.99. My board had died in my home pc and I needed the board RIGHT then though so I paid the $169.99 for the convenience.
Do I think any of these guys were trying to rip me off? No, it's retail business. It's just the way it is. Retail stores charge more because we have employs to pay, overhead costs and we actually deal with customers on a day to day, face to face business.
Think about it like this... If no one shopped at retail businesses, they would cease to exist then next time you JUST need a bag of BBs for that game this weekend, you go from being able to pay $14.99 locally to $13~$15.00 dollars plus $8~12 dollars shipping online.
Anyway my rant for the day.
Also as to Mr. Oh's humor, it's different, that's for sure. I know he offends some people but that's just him. Does it hurt his business? I'm sure it does but that's just Yong.
